Il pr\u00e9vient les accidents dus \u00e0 une surcharge ou \u00e0 des erreurs de manipulation, permettant ainsi une utilisation normalis\u00e9e et scientifique de la grue. Il s'agit essentiellement d'un accessoire de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 assurant une protection contre les surcharges : d\u00e8s que le couple de levage d\u00e9passe la limite, il peut se d\u00e9clencher automatiquement et interrompre l'op\u00e9ration afin de prot\u00e9ger l'\u00e9quipement.<\/p>\n<p>Les grues articul\u00e9es (\u00e0 fl\u00e8che articul\u00e9e) comportant plusieurs sections de fl\u00e8che et pr\u00e9sentant une g\u00e9om\u00e9trie complexe, le LMI combine plusieurs donn\u00e9es d'angle et de pression pour calculer le moment de levage r\u00e9el et garantir le respect de la capacit\u00e9 nominale \u00e0 chaque articulation. Selon ce principe, la masse \u00e9quivalente de la fl\u00e8che en position de t\u00eate est calcul\u00e9e lorsque la fl\u00e8che est \u00e0 vide. La masse \u00e9quivalente de la fl\u00e8che \u00e9tant diff\u00e9rente selon la longueur et l'angle, un nombre infini de valeurs doivent \u00eatre \u00e9talonn\u00e9es.<br \/>\nEn raison de la pr\u00e9sence d'une fl\u00e8che, l'algorithme de l'indicateur de moment de charge est diff\u00e9rent de celui d'une grue sur camion. Il est donc n\u00e9cessaire de proposer un algorithme d'\u00e9talonnage \u00e0 vide sp\u00e9cifique pour \u00e9galiser le poids mort de la fl\u00e8che et celui de la t\u00eate de fl\u00e8che.
